Dredged Lake Sediment

Corporate Engineering Group

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) was undertaking major sediment removal projects from ten freshwater lakes in Florida.  Ardaman’s project team studied the potential beneficial uses of fine grained and/or organic sediments that would be removed from the ten lakes.

The geotechnical services that were provided includes the following:

  • Sampling the in situ sediments, the in lake disposal islands and uplands disposal areas from the lakes
  • Performing various laboratory tests to classify and document the engineering properties of the sediments
  • Evaluating the engineering properties of the collected samples for potential beneficial use
  • Documenting the various field and laboratories methodologies in a final comprehensive report for future use
